As this year comes to a close, I find myself looking back at the long journey that has been the design, development and support of EnterYourHours.com. We have a great software system, and great customers to go along with it. What started as a seed of an idea has grown into a thriving business, and personally one of my best Holiday presents of 2010.
We designed EnterYourHours.com to be a time and billing software system. It’s core features are tracking time and invoicing. However, there are a multitude of supporting features, and that list has grown thanks to feedback from our customers. We have always endeavored to include all the basic features a professional services company would need in a billing system, such as tracking time, and keeping the time organized across multiple workers and clients. However, after our initial release, we quickly realized that there are many different ways to track hours and invoice, so we focused on invoice customization, and at the same added the ability to track by project and activities. We’ve made many more improvements since, and we are constantly adding features. At the same time, we’ve focused on ease of use, by adding lots of help files, tutorials, and messages within the software to help guide our users.
Our latest addition gave our users the ability to create bills rather than invoices. This was key to those customers of ours who like to bill their clients on tight cycles and wanted to include past-due amounts with every invoice. We are also very close to releasing our much anticipated Iphone App. Our QA list of bugs has gotten very tiny, and I think we will be submitting the app to the Apple Store within a couple of weeks.
I’m very proud of our development team, but I think I’m most proud of the fact that we’ve found a balance between keeping the software easy to use for our customer-base that wants something simple, while also including a host of features that can be configured for those customers who have a very specific way they run their business.
